Developmental Editing
Developmental editing is a process and partnership between author(s) and editor involving coaching, discussion, brainstorming, and editing. It works best in the early stages of a project (and the project is usually lengthy, such as a dissertation or novel); we assist writers to outline a project, and subsequently support the writer as the project unfolds. We'll work with you to get your ideas conceptualized, clarified, and organized.
Developmental editing is especially appropriate for projects with multiple authors, particularly when none is a strong writer. We're happy to provide first drafts, "ghostwriting," research, and facilitation for single or multi-author publishing projects. We'll focus on concept, content, structure, and style.
