Shelly Rafferty, Ph.D.

Shelly Rafferty is a writer and editor with 30 years of experience in the publishing industry. Formerly the Marketing Manager for Medicine /Academic Science at Oxford University Press, Shelly also served as a Senior Copywriter. Throughout her Ph.D. studies (Education; Curriculum & Instruction, 2008), she edited dissertations and novels, and wrote fiction, scholarly papers, and policy documents. Currently (with Jackie), she serves as Co-Copy Editor of Online Learning, and provides instructional design services to a variety of projects. Shelly’s fiction, poetry, and academic work have been widely published.

Jacalyn Eddy, Ph.D.

Since receiving her Ph.D. in American History in 2003, Jackie has spent two decades as an award-winning instructor and public speaker. She has sixteen years’ experience editing academic work in education, medicine, and the humanities. She is a content expert in American publishing history, children’s book history, and the professionalization of women. Her “groundbreaking work,” Bookwomen: Creating an Empire in Children’s Book Publishing, 1919–1939, is required reading in many graduate programs. She is also the Co-Copy Editor for Online Learning.
